I recently purchased the 2003 Jp DVD for the DTS CDS mix.

Is it a difficult track to synch to the Jp 2009/2015 LIONSGATE blu-rays? Or am I better off just requesting a download link?

T2 had a number of number of audio mixes prepared for it's theatrical release. Alongside the matrixed 4-2-4 Dolby A and SR optical tracks there were 2 discrete 6-track mixes, one in 70mm magnetic and the second in a digital format known as CDS.

When people refer to the CDS mix they are generally referring to the 5.1 mixes available on home video (laserdisc, DVD) prior to the Artisan Ultimate Edition DVD, when the 6.1 remix was introduced. Pretty much all releases since have only included this remix.

Kodak were way ahead of the curve and like Sony with some refinery they would be on top today

Hi, lossless CDS audio (DTSMA), to my knowledge, can be found from French bluray (early 2000). I checked and the percussive sound is there in the opening moments. The movie can be located from russian tracker.

I don't remember what it was and I'm too lazy to go digging, but there was something about that french track that made it different (and inferior) to the CDS on the DVD.

Yes. As I remember it, the Japanese DVD dts track was fuller and unprocessed or to a lesser extent, while the dts HDMA from the French Blu-ray was filtered despite being supposedly lossless.

Unrelated to the CDS mix but still a T2 mix related question/qibble. I recently acquired a copy of the original 2006 Blu-Ray as it had the Special Edition Commentaries cut down to the Theatrical Cut that no other release has to my knowledge (sans maybe the original Ultimate Edition DVD but I don't have that one). Out of curiosity I noticed that the 5.1-ES mix present on here sounds distinctly different from the 2015 BD 5.1. It's been claimed on this thread that all Blu-Ray releases use the same 2000 6.1 remix including the 06 BD, so it's curious to me why the 06 tracks so different. It's also i guess important to note I also checked the later Extreme Edition reprint and the 5.1-EX track there also doesn't resemble the 06 BD. Prehaps 2 remixed tracks exist?

Which version did you get? R1? I remember I did a comparison using the 2006, but I don't think I may have watched the whole movie. The 2006 french track, I remember is a unique mix using the CDS and adding voices on all three front channels.
