[proposal] Jurassic Park: The Lost World (1997) - extended version
#21
Everyone's interpretation of "fun" is different, therefore what accomplishes the "purpose" for one, will not for another. I agree with you that movies are supposed to be "an escape" and wasn't knocking sequels in general, just this particular one. There are series where the sequels are better or equally as fun (Star Trek, BTTF, Terminator series come to mind first) but that's because they are expanding on the storyline/character arcs/etc and there are sequels that just recycle the same storyline (JP, Final Destination, Butterfly Effect come to mind here) In cases where they are just recycling the same story, I find it harder to have fun with it and enjoy it, if I already enjoyed the "original." Granted, there are exceptions and not all will feel this way, just expressing my opinionWink

Can't remember if you actually sent it to me (and it was lost somewhere into one of my old HDDs) or you haven't send it at all... anyway, why reviving an old thread like this? Well, just found a PAL DVB full screen version, and its quality is really nice, a lot better than the NTSC capture, and probably better than the fullscreen NTSC DVD; this could be used to improve quality of the fullscreen theatrical cut.

Or, use your version; so, I'd like to know if you have still that capture; if so, to get an idea I just need two screenshots, one just before the first deleted scene - the mother screaming, for example - and one of the deleted scene; this is just to understand the quality and the logo position.

Thanks a lot!!!

Don't mention it, PDB, my fault... still, I wonder if your capture was 1.33:1 open matte, or 1.85:1

It was 1.77 like the HDTV broadcast.

OK, at least it's not a great loss, if the 1.33:1 open matte image should be preserved... I mean, it's always possible to use BD for 1.85:1 - yet, we will loose those tiny slices on top and bottom of the 1.78:1 no present in the 1.85:1... well, we have to live withou them! Wink

One major Lost World: Jurassic Park scene still remains lost - drunk Peter Ludlow tripping over and breaking baby T-Rex's leg. A still can be seen over at Jurassic Outpost website. This would be a great scene to find. And a scene in the tent where Ian and Kelly discusses whether he should marry Sarah. Let the hunt begin guys, ha ha. I wanna keep hoping.
