Exported video has 'glitches'
#11
In the original image, the bottom white lines are "garbage" (probably present in the source, or introduced by the VHS player/recorder), not intended to be displayed because, at the time, all displays use overscan.

If the capture card resolution is 486 vertical, just crop the bottom 6 pixels.

EDIT: it seems the white lines are on top... well, crop the top 6 pixels! Big Grin

Those aren't actually the white lines I was referring to. The ones you are referring to are indeed at the top. The white lines I was referring to are towards the bottom on the arch like thing (you might have to zoom in to see depending on what system or your viewing them on). Like I said they are very small and faint and flicker very quickly that you could honestly blink and miss it. When it plays back it almost looks like VHS flicker so honestly compared to the boxes that Nero gave me (which to fair would also only flicker for maybe a split second but annoying nonetheless) I'm really not bothered by it.

The small one on the bottom, near the center? Is that present only there, or on some other frames?

I spotted it I think two more times throughout the whole disc. I'm sure there's more but they flash by pretty quick.

If you can live with it... Big Grin

But you should always cut the top lines to avoid the "garbage" lines - those, by the way, are there even in some DVB broadcast nowadays, in 2017!

It may be due to the quality of the source. I burned two other DVDs and hadnt spotted anything yet.

I'm still for the time being sticking with PowerDirector but for future reference what DVD burning software do you guys recommend?? I prefer something that has a Smart Fit option and can allow me to manually make my own chapters.

Can't help, I didn't author a DVD since years... just for burning, IMGburn worked well, don't know if there is anything better and free today.

I use ImgBurn too, just be sure to take the necessary steps to avoid the openCandy malware during installation.

Trying something new. I'm gonna attempt to burn a folder through Nero of my footage with it on the High Quality setting rather than Fit to Disc. Then I'm gonna try to burn the folder using IMGBurn. Wish me luck.
