Hello,
Among all the DTS CDs we've accumulated over the years, does anybody have the revised long version of the Digital Experience logo, the one we're more familiar with? I would love to hear that in cinema DTS again.
Or was it on its own CD that we don't have?

Are we talking about the one with the flying disc?

Yes, the longer version is available only on LD (AFAIK) while the shorter also on DVD.
I have both, if someone need them - just have to find out where...

Wasn't the longer on that THX WOW LD2DVD preservation, with some more DTS, Dolby and THX logos?

I've only ever seen the short version once, on the Jurassic Park 35mm scan. All of the DTS DVDs I've owned had the longer length one. Most were scans with telecine wobble and everything but if I recall I have a DVD with an all digital DTS trailer. I think it's on Re-Animator. I'll dig it out on my down time from work.
I loved having the surround sound trailers before the film. It was an occasional 'treat' on DVDs but on laserdisc it was almost mandatory! I think my favourites were obviously the DTS flying disc, Dolby 'City' with the helicopter and of course the original THX 'Deep Note' as loud as possible! Man those were the days

My question was whether anyone had an actual cinema CD of that version. I wasn't asking for it from LD or DVD. Just wanted to clarify that.
The 1.85 telecine version of the DTS logo looks kind of crummy, looks like it was run through crappy late-90s edge enhancement filtering, it also has a video zoom-out to get the whole logo at the end to fit in frame. I would love to see a good scan of the flat version (Jonathan Froes has a scan of scope version up on YouTube), but I am more interested in us having the audio from a real DTS CD.
(Cinema DTS CD versions of THX trailers would also be awesome, do we have any?)
Also, not really related, but the short DTS logo showed up at the front of a German cable TV airing of Carlito's Way a couple years back. Someone in Germany it posted it on YouTube (a few months before the JP 35mm was released, actually, I dunno how none of us came across it). The logo in the corner is for some channel called "kabel eins." It blows my mind that this showed up on a TV broadcast (which probably wasn't DTS, either), I wonder how they got a video master with the logo at the front...

Cinema DTS wasn't really a thing in my neck of the woods, we just got Dolby. Was the DTS trailer an integrated part of the film or were they spliced onto the film by the projectionist? If it was printed in then you would need to identify films that were distributed with the long form trailer.

I don't know, I was fielding the question for those members here who have gotten access to the cinema discs, such as Jetrell Fo. (Maybe I should ask borisanddoris as well...)
