Thanks, but... don't hate me... there is an error in the iTunes picture here: https://diff.pics/jy2nE8b8qSpj/3
As you have to make it (again?!?), just two things:
upload JPGs instead - at the end, we are comparing colors, after all, and it will make the comparisons load much faster!
fix HDTV & iTunes A/R as the BD, or leave the latter alone, to get more consistency
Hope you would not hate me (not too much, at least! )

No problem, I must have been sleepwalking through those, sorry! Fixed the iTunes release and added the uncorrected Blu-ray instead.

Made a quick'n'dirt comparison with the NTSC LD; apart some details lost on both sides (but not top/bottom), framing is the same as US DVD; colors should be the same, but as you know, it's an analog format so it depends also by the capture device or display setting, but I would say they are the same - once properly adjusted; definitely not a mile near the BD ones!
Can't capture for the moment, but it's in the todo list for PCM (and maybe AC-3) track capture.
PS: I've stolen your comparisons and put them in the first post!

Two small notes: - I thought to use the WEB version as contrast reference, to get closer colors to DVD; I know there are some shots which has clipped whites, but it's always possible to correct them only, or just use BD contrast untouched for levels higher than a given value - should be seen if the colors would suffer too much for that...
- managed to find out an HDTV recording; sadly it's a cropped 16:9 version, but it has a bit more details on bottom - I can say we would gain 10/12 about 44 lines, but only on the central part... it would be a sort of "T" or "+" aspect ratio, with missing small corners on left and right bottom; still possible to add a YAO sub to cover the added part. *Maybe* there is an OAR HDTV version somewhere, and luckily it would have all those bottom lines!

Preliminary test:

https://mega.nz/#!1uZUWLbT!tWoHF9vOnXYAz...pCcsezvZX4 - also YAO test!
Problem is, the HDTV position isn't fixed, but varies - sometimes it's also a pan&scan!
So, dunno if I'll be able to use it in the final version... unless someone would help me with that...

And can not the place that was left with black stripes on the sides, replaced with a picture from the DVD?

On the right, yes, on the left, partly; look at the comparison here: https://fanrestore.com/thread-1290-post-...l#pid30346
There, I used inpaint to mask the left top and bottom corners, but it would not work with moving images...

See post #270. Allegedly a remaster from 84 Entertainment is inbound.
