So if the inner ring says "V2", that means it indeed has the original mono as intended? Just to confirm, of course.

^ That's what I've read. Apparently, if it's a V2 disc, it should contain the original mono.

Update: the Kino disc of TGTBATU has a review up on Blu-ray.com, and from what I've read, whereas the previous Blu-ray had too much yellow the Kino Blu-ray has too little yellow. I'm considering making a compromise between the two for my own restoration.

Oh for f***s sake...this is just plain damn lazy and stupid. And to top that off they've even apparently messed up the old MGM extras in addition to having compression issues.
EDIT after scrutinizing the MisterLime posts they appeared to have had their hands tied by the Italian rights holders, weird as this is a MGM owned title because of it being a UA film. They did at least try to correct a few things and make some new extras but couldn't get much participation. I don't however see why they couldn't have worked with us and they mention this was the most they had paid for a title ever (apparently even outdoing other studios like Criterion). Unless things were already finalized in which case they could have just been honest and said so. But if they tried to address the color issue why not take the time to fix all of the various concerns?
Ugh. It's a bit of a mess over on the BD.com forum with many armchair enthusiasts as usual making us look bad and like crazy raving lunatics. It sucks because I remember first writing MGM about their treatment of Leone films in 2003 when I was in high school after seeing some issues in the expanded GBU print. I don't shoot my mouth off and have so far researched these films for fourteen years.
Hopefully the mono is in good shape but I highly doubt it as it will likely be the Chace track.
I wish so damn bad that I could actually get a job with one of these companies at least doing f***ing research for them.

After that little tirade, I'm definitely using the Italian BD as my restoration source for AFOD. If Kino is going to treat their Blu-ray of TGTBATU like that, I doubt they'll treat the other two any differently. At least from what I heard it restores the original UA Ovoid logo...
