The new UHD regrade is easily among your finest work. Watched this morning & instantly put me in a good mood. Thank you once again.

Wow. A lot of good info here. pipefan413's sleuthing and meticulously-kept work log are especially eye-opening.

On the topic of audio tracks, I wonder if anyone has compared the US LD track to the JP LD stereo track from another thread. I saw that The Aluminum Falcon was asking to use it for this regrade over there, but since it's not(?) included in the final release, I'm guessing either he didn't get it or it didn't sound as good.

Hey, guys. Back in the day, in France, Studio Canal had the rights before Metropolitan 3 DVD set and they released it on DVD with stereo tracks only and a different grading. I had it in the early 2000s, but I sold it when I got the Metropolitan 3 DVD set. Now, when watching this theatrical emulation, it reminded me of this DVD with better whites, not as much of a magenta push, warmer graded exteriors and rather yellow credits instead of orange. I wanted to see again how it looked, so I found a second-hand copy for less than 5€ and I just received it today. What do you guys think, especially those who have seen the actual print? Is it a fair representation of it or is it still miles away?

Oh, wow! I just went back to my open matte 1.33:1 disc from Metropolitan 3 DVD set, and it looks so gorgeous and filmlike, except for the horizontal cropping. I must have seen it just once this way some 20 years ago and never went back to it. I can see that it must have been used as a reference for TAF's phenomenal regrading job here. DVD still has orange credits though, and it's overall bluer than TAF's rather greener grading. DVD also shows the "black as hell" and red pops, mostly on blood and in the nightclub, as discussed on a previous page:

Hey man I’m new to this website and I’ve signed up and registered and have NO IDEA how I’m supposed to view any of these wonderful fan restorations! Is there a link I’m missing? How do I download the movies?

You don't. This is not a torrent site. You take part in conversations, you make friends, you show yourself as being an asset we can count on and, in a couple of months, people will help you see stuff.

That makes sense! I love talking about film and making friends; but any tips on what I could do to help be a good “asset”?

Well, you offer your help to people asking for it for their ongoing projects, for instance. There's also a thread called "what are you watching?" where you can make recommendations on stuff you just watched so that other people can be interested in watching them, too. Look around, I'm sure you'll find some threads where you can intervene.

Yep. Even if you offer help like give feedback when someone uploads in progress shots from colour corrections and projects like that.

Plenty to do around here.

Welcome to the forum!
