Awesome
In the next few days I'll compare HP3 to the blu to check for any open matte scenes, or have you had a chance to do that already?

I'll start to work to HP 3 in few minutes - as I have to wait for HP 2 alternate source...
A great help would be to found the frame numbers of HP 2 with those nasty green blocks... they are vicious, sometimes only one appears, and can easily pass unnoticed... if you want to accomplish this hard task, drop me a PM for shots to check.
Another hard task would be to find out where the crop should be made on HP 7; usually there are few positions - like all left, mid left, middle, mid right, right - so it would be *relatively* easy to find them out...

If I get a chance I'll let you know.
Just out of curiosity, do you plan on releasing HP 6 as a switching aspect ratio like you're considering for 7 and 8? (I think 6 is the only other one with both open matte and cropped scenes, as far as we know)

Project status:
- HP 1: video ready, English main track waiting for DTS-HD MA encoding
- HP 2: slowly downloading second source; there would be some work to do, as it has TV logo always on, and rating logo and hard subs in few shots.
- HP 3: finished to watch it, it's perfect! There are no nasty broadcast errors or compression green blocks or artefact , missing frames etc. - aside one single corrupted frame, fixed - so it would be ready ASAP!
- HP 4: still to be watched - hope it would be OK!
- HP 5: as it's a web download, it is expected to be perfect, without missing frames and broadcast errors... I hope!
- HP 6: I'm waiting for the second source, so there will be no need to use BD, hence no variable aspect ratio - unless you would check all the starting and ending frame numbers of each shot, and which needs which - open matte, as is, and cropped, position...
- HP 7: that's the thoughest work... unless a 1080i/p broadcast recording would surface - and I'm afraid it will not there are two way to accomplish the task:
1) use 720p as main source, and SDTV as second source to improve a bit the quality and delete the logo
2) use BD as main source, with the 720p as guideline, for the cropped parts of the movie (roughly 97% of the whole movie) while using 720p and SDTV combined for the "three brothers" and the remaining few open matte shots
solution 1 is the simplest (more or less) but quality would be lower; solution 2 would be hardest, but with the best quality - even if the top and bottom "slices" found on fullscreen version would be lost... I'm leaning towards the latter; here, some help will be greatly appreciated and welcome. And, still strongly hope for a 1080i/p capture!
- HP 8: still have to work on it, but 1080i HDTV would be used as main source, and 720p just to wipe out the few frames with residual logo - a task that *should* be not extremely hard.

I'm really excited to add these to my collection.

A CALL TO ANYONE!
Harry Potter saga would be broadcasted today, tomorrow, and on monday on Freeform - http://freeform.go.com
schedule: http://ew.com/tv/2017/05/26/memorial-day...thons-2017
It will start ASAP, so to anyone who could record the actual broadcast or streaming, please do it!
We need in particular HP 7, but any other film would be welcome as well; only requirement, it should be full screen 16:9.
Thanks in advance!

AFAIK they are all from 2K master, as the newer UHD-BDs... of course, the latter would benefit of HDR and larger colorspace, but resolution would be almost the same of the old BDs, so...
HP 4 in sync, ready to be watched - there should be no missing frames at all!

Unfortunately, I do not have the capability to cap HDTV in any manner, but I do appreciate being included.

Strongly hope someone would be able to cap at least HP 7...
HP 4: finished to watch it right now; it's very nice, no missing frames, but there are some nasty artefacts that lasts from just one to several frames; here you are the worst example:
The initial scenes (until Harry wakes up) has many frames affected; later on, there are only four instances, and they last for few frames. I tried to wipe them out, without success... luckily babouin has another capture, so he will save the day as usual (thanks, thanks again! ); waiting for his reply, I'll post here the eventual solution to the problem.
Time to watch HP 5 - it should be easy, I hope!
