Andrea, really impressive effort. I was going through The Philosopher's Stone just now. Looks sharp. I don't think you need to change the colours to warm. The current colour tone looks closer to the 35mm prints, with deep greens and blues and golden tones. No need to change it to the teal look that you have tested in that screenshot comparison. However, personally I found the added grain plate to be a bit too intrusive on the otherwise pristine looking image. Real film grain does not look like an overlay. Well lit portions on film do not have much visible grain. It is only the darker areas of the frame that have discernible grain. Here, the grain appears uniform on all parts of the image. If you can find the time, do a Ver. 2, with less grain and I think it should be perfect. All the best to your projects!
P.S: The contrast is also perfect. No need to change that.

This could give very big changes exactly in HP1 & HP2.
Actually, I don't know if the new UHD-BD image could blend well with HD open matte sources - must do some tests in the future, but DO... NOT... HOLD... YOUR... BREATH!!!
Did some UAR tests in these days:
HP3: merging the WEB open matte 1.78:1 with the BD 2.41:1, the former serves to add just few tiny slices of image on top and/or bottom here and there; nothing exceptional, just a dozen pixel but, in the spirit of "every pixel counts", that's better than nothing!
I do recall that someone posted a source (from HDTV IIRC) that seems indeed open matte and not just cropped; if I am not just imagining it, it will be nice to get a link!
Last thing: fullscreen DVD has not only cropped sides, but also cropped top/bottom, so completely useless for this episode.
HP4, HP5: in some shots DVD has more image on top and/or bottom, so an UAR image composed by three sources is possible; can't say now how many, but they are few.
HP6: here, it seems a lot of shots (if not all) benefits of the three sources!
HP7: it gains quite some image only when the open matte has more image (around 15% of the movie), while for the other shots it gains at best the usual 12px slice.
HP8: almost half of the shots are open matte; of them, some are full open matte, while others just add some image top and bottom, but crop on the sides; these have a great benefit from the UAR treatment. The other shots as usual, from none to 12px.
Also, used the new HBO open matte source, mixed with the old Amazon one, to get the best open matte version; the old one will be used alone only for the Nagini shot, because it has no subtitles (so perfect for the various localized subs) and because HBO has zoomed image for that shot; frankly, I thought to overlay BD central part to Amazon, to get the original English subtitles, but the colors do not match perfectly, and, as the subs in various languages are ready, I will use them.

Does anyone need/want a new HDTV source for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? It was on TV here the other day so I recorded it. 1080i MPEG2.
