The Region 1 version is your best bet quality wise due to the NTSC to PAL conversion on most foreign releases. Region locking of DVD's should not be a problem for you with the right software for your P.C. Thanks given by: shamar
But... It has also some deleted scenes, right? Where can I find for exmple: "Feed the lions"?
And what are exactly these scenes: http://www.patriotresource.com/gladiator...index.html These are mostly the same as in "extended cut" or something new (like "feed the lions")?

All right. Got it. One more question
Someone somewhere said something ab. "cutting hand/arm on the arena" scene that it was uncutted in theatres but on every released home versions is censored. Does it true?

Does it true? Unless I see the whole uncut/uncensored/alternative/whatever scene with my own eyes - possibly in a video clip posted by some reputable poster, but even in that case I would be always a bid doubtful - I'll clean up everything with the Mandela effect; I can say I fall myself into this "brain trap" the other day, watching "Fantastic Four" (2015) at home, and I was 101% sure there was a missing shot while I was watching it - where, after thinking about this hours later, I realized that shot was from a previous Fantastic Four movie... I guess the same happens to people who watch a lot of movies, mixing memories after some time. So, if there is no proof, it does not exist.

It's so true with these "fake memories". I've got it too with many movies
I'm not 100% sure (nned to check movie) but it looks like there are some alternate shots in "Resurrecting Proximo" featurette. I check it tomorrow coz I've got headache of these shot by shot comparissions today
I'd bet my hat that the (almost subliminal) hand/arm cut on the theatrical DVD was exactly the same as in the cinema. I remember paying particularly close attention to that at the movies and soon after when it came out on DVD. I was pretty disappointed with how sanitized some of the violence was considering the subject matter (and since it had been the first sword & sandal movie of note for a great many years at the time).
OK. Probably last question
I see there are 2 more deleted scenes in some editions: The Scribe * (00:01:48) Grain Reserves * (00:01:48) Sounds like these are from "extended cut" but...Are these maybe something new? EDIT: Done. |
