There might be a better DTS track on its way. Just wait for MrBrown to verify his track. So once an audio wizard has synchronized it to the old and new masters, we will forget about the Dolby one anyway... if the DTS is the real deal that is.

Basically the remix drops a section of the music completely. This is how it sounds on the original mix:

T2 sample

It's easier to just play a clip than describe. On the remix that percussion is missing, completely.

I just checked my Ultimate Edition DVD theatrical cut (French edition by Studio Canal), and both the English track (Dolby 5.1) and the French dub (Dolby 2.0) have these percussions.

Also, the Skynet Edition equivalent in France has a French track in DTS HDHR that also has the percussions, and the new edition French dub in DTS HDMA also has the percussions, whereas the English does not! How weird!

So, I just took the sample, the dts track, and a rip of the germna HD-DVD (with the newer mix)

I would say that the DTS track contain the percussion in the scene, while the HD-DVD missing them...

Are there only 2 mixes? (aside from object based)

Might be some of the many Blu Rays has the original as lossless too?

Beber,
I know that early European releases had the original mix. Was your french ultimate edition the equivalent to the USA ultimate edition with the 6.1 surround ex tracks? As for the stereo track AFAIK that was never remixed.

All Blu rays to date have the audio based off the remix. Although there is a 7.1 remix that studiocanal produced that was on hd-dvd. Word is that the new 'restored' blu ray has a track that is worse.

I'm aware of at least 3 in English:
- the CDS mix.
- the Skynet edition. (with that in your face laser blast a T800 shoots at the audience that goes loud in the rear channels that I love.)
- the 2015 US edition that might be the same on the new remaster.

I know that the first Blu-ray edition we've had in France had seperate discs for the theatrical and extended cut (because of the lack of dubbing on the extended scenes), just like the Ultimate Edition DVD, but I don't have that Blu-ray edition. Maybe a French member here has it and is willing to ckeck? That would be great if it turns out to be the CDS mix in DTS HDMA.
