[Proposal] Screamers (1995)
#1

This sci-fi horror film based on the Phillip k Dick short story 'Second Variety' is a favourite of mine and it pains me that it's never been given the HD treatment on Blu-ray (it's sequel did in Canada though)

Not sure if there is any HD versions floating around but happy to help find it if someone wants to put this on their idea list?

I also have a DVD-R of the fullscreen open matte version as well (same as the US Laserdisc) that I can provide

This was on either Syfy or horror over Christmas, I hadn't seen it in years! It looks like there is a 720p web-dl on a certain Russian website.

it was on the horror channel. I was going to watch it but I got my DVD out to watch instead.

no raw 1080i rips then?

I have both HDTV and WEBdl 1080, they have different color grading and merging them would probably improves details...

I'm wondering if the PCM from the Laserdisc would sound better than the lossy DD 5.1 / 2.0 on the DVD

IMDB states it was mixed with Dolby Digital and SDDS but the end credits show just Dolby and SDDS

Including more than one track would be the best choice IMHO!

On Vudu in HDX

https://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content/12965/Screamers

I'm not sure how compression is overall (it at least has to be better than that blocky Telemondo airing I once looked at for a Spanish print containing a rare C-T Espania logo), but vudu doesn't have watermarks and anyone with a WD media hub and HDMI card capable of capping 1080p24 would get a 24fps signal instead of going the 1080i route.
