I don't know. I've been listening to it over and over and it just doesn't sound right to me. The sound drops volume before the camera cuts away and it's pretty jarring. I'm willing to bet it was a mistake.

My first experience with LD audio, and it was very very nice. Thanks Jonno!
Alan Silvestri soundtrack is a masterpiece keep you focussed through entire film. I can't imagine it with any other soundtrack. But try to imagine it in cinema with live orchestra. Uff, oh my.  There is something in LD audio that makes me so pleased to listen them. I think they are not far from LP, master tapes & quality 1st gen records (lossless compressed). They are much better because they are analog recorded and digital process-mix remove that "thing" from them or...

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if there are any releases of Predator 2 out there with lossless stereo? The US BD is only 224 kbps.

Convert the AC3 2.0 from the Predator 2 BD to wav, it will sound almost exactly like the LD. Converting it to WAV gets rid of the dialnorm!!! I found this out by converting the 2.0 Pro Logic AC3 track found on the 2001 Phantom Menace DVD to WAV 5 years ago!! It sounds amazing!!! I actually like the 2.0 mix of the Phantom Menace better than the 5.1 DVD mix and the 7.1 Blu ray Mix.

Very true that the dial norm will be eliminated but converting an ac3 track to PCM doesn’t make it lossless like jonno’s LD preservation is.
In the end the LD track is superior being closer to the original source by not having the bits thrown out in the conversion to Dolby Digital.
