This one is also all over the place in terms of color. Very inconsistent.

This is where I am right now with M:I-3:

This is what I obtain with The Matrix. In many scenes, the remastered Blu-ray looks overexposed and thus the highlights are blown. The UHD does not suffer from that.

Remastered Blu-ray / RipBot default conversion from UHD

Here, the remastered Blu-ray is quite dead on with my 35mm experience. The RipBot conversion makes a way too green wall.

Blown highlights on the remastered Blu-ray. More details on the UHD.

Richer colors on the remastered Blu-ray.

For this example, I'm adding the old Blu-ray. I don't really like the way the remaster looks inside the Nebuchadnezzar. Too much pink and green eyes, even the white part of the eyes turn to a greenish blue, maybe as a result of screen reflection 'cause it shows a lot on Tank's eyes. But I think, overall, I like the Nebuchadnezzar scenes better on the old master.

Too bright on the roof scene on the remastered Blu-ray. The UHD is not that blown and shows more details.

The grading on the Nebuchadnezzar scenes are a bit of a head scratch for me also.
They look truly bizarre to my eyes.
Ive only viewed it converted to 8bit rec.720 but I still think its a little off.

I know, right? And I cannot comment on the actual HDR look 'cause I'm not equiped either. But these scenes do look strange on the remaster. I think they look healthier on the old master. I cannot recall which is more accurate, though.

It could be cool to do a patchwork version, using the best from all the four versions.

Don't forget the 4K remaster has been graded to look as 'originally intended' as opposed to how it was presented theatrically.

Here's what I get with Predator. That looks about right: not as red, darker, more filmlike.

Just finished a veryslow 2 pass grain high bitrate using default of Predator myself. Lovely transfer. All that grain is beautiful. Anyone know the delay needed for the PCM 2.0 laserdisc sound.
