Here are the first 15 minutes of Cliffhanger, on Default for now. Haven't got the new Blu-ray to compare yet.



I noticed that on the Studio Canal UHD (maybe the Sony one will be different in the US in January), we have a clean slate regarding time and space information on screen. The cards below are nowhere to be seen, except in the subtitles:

Heard its difficult to get the snow white on the UHD conversion (German forum), comes out slightly grey looking, only watching the full UHD on a 4k tv using hdr / dv makes it white, where as the remastered bluray is the correct white. Have you found that with your conversion, Beber.

Very impressed with the Die Hard 3 using (hue:0, Sat:1.03,Bright:0,Cont:0.95) quickly checked it and ended up watching it all, such a good movie, less so with Die Hard 2 (which has one hardcoded Russian sub) but could be just the nature of the way it was filmed rather than anything wrong with the 4k transfer plus on those settings came out a little dark, maybe default would work better.

Regarding Cliffhanger, I can't tell you right now as there is no snow in the opening scenes.

I've just finished getting Die Hard 2 and am converting the first 15 minutes on Default. Playing through it, I found out that there were no English subs on the Spanish dialogue, so clean slate for us abroad. Where would be the Russian burnt-in then?

I'm just starting to get Die Hard 3, part by part... So maybe I'll have it completed in the middle of next week.

Would you post a full movie thumbnail pics of both of these? You know, like I tend to do: 10 lines, 3 or 4 columns, 2500 pixels wide so we can right-click and see it bigger than on the forum.

Yea, no problem, will do it later when I have access to my htpc, do you use thumbnail me 3.0 or something else.
