Here you go, maybe not all exact frame but close enough:
That one looks about right. That one is on the right track but lacks contrast and is too dark and dull. That one is on the right track, too, but looks too dull, and the wall is too grey. Those blues are not right. This grey basement is totally wrong. It should be very much cyan down there. That one is about right. The tunnel is a bit to green and should be more cyan. That one is on the right track being on the blue side, but the colors look dull. Also on the right track, but still too dull and should come out as greener. That should look a lot more cyan. Too bad you took this one too soon or too late, as I wanted to see how cyan the blues would look. So basically, it's a better basis compared to the Blu-ray, but there's still quite a lot of margin for improvement. I'm gonna have to tweak the hell out of it to find something I like... when I finally get every part of it, sometime next week at this rate, maybe.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say DH3 is probably a correct representation of the IP (I doubt that has been scanned from the ON).
The more I see 35mm release prints, the more I notice that they introduce the characteristics (cyan, contrast among others) your talking about Beber. Whether these characteristics are taken into consideration during the timing process to compensate is a question of mine.
Beber, I'll try and get a closer frame on the last one later, its not easy finding the exact frame on that scene without a timecode. Might try default on this one as well once 2 is redone. Individual scene colour grading may be needed on this one in either Premiere or Resolve by someone with the skills.

The framing is different on this scene compared to the bluray and has alot more info on the right side but this is a couple of frames later and seems to match:
Let me know.
OK, so I guess there's no chance in getting some blue on this remaster there... Bummer. Even the Blu-ray had blue on this shot.
There's more picture on every side, actually!
In motion, this transfer is very nice, even if the colors aren't correct, was much more impressed with it compared to 2. Look forward to your views Beber. Yea, more picture on every side.

I started playing around with UHD to BD too, with AviSynth+ and DGHable, based on that script one of you guys posted in this thread (from ripbo264).
You can finetune the whole thing way more than just with that Tweak function by altering the variables of the DGHable algorithm. I made a little graph that shows how each of the variables affects the gradation curve: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/h8ui8lzkrs Either way, I played around to find settings I personally like. Most important to me was preservation of highlights and shadows with a strong knee curve on top. Here are my results on the example of Dark Knight: Gotta say I'm pretty happy with the results. This is my script: Code: video=ImageSource("6.png") |
