The first season was OK to me, but didn't quite feel like Evil Dead. Sam Raimi is antagonistic to the Ash character, and they really went overboard with trying to make him seem like an unlikeable sleezeball. I also wasn't a fan of all the unnecessary CG. Season 2 felt like a return to form to me though. It was hilarious, his character was perfect, lots of practical FX, and of course very bloody. I was pretty bummed when they announced that the showrunner for season 2 left due to "creative differences" with the producer since that's what I wanted to see. I've had no interest to watch Season 3, but it sounds like its still solid so I'll have to check it out eventually. All in all though, I think it's a miracle we even got it in the first place.
