- at the French Cinémathèque, on March 15th : http://www.cinematheque.fr/seance/31520.html - at the Filmothèque du Quartier latin, on March 16th : http://www.cinematheque.fr/seance/31551.html They claim it to be the 2018 4K restoration: "Restauration 4K menée en 2018 par la 20th Century-Fox à la Company 3/Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, sous la supervision de Ridley Scott et Pam Dery."

I'm planning to see it at the Prince Charles in London on the 18th (introducing the girlfriend to it as well)
Was hoping to join Jonno at a showing he's attending but i got my boys that evening. Looking forward to discussing this new transfer though

I'll be at the NFT1 (aka BFI Southbank) this Saturday for a watch. I saw it there on 70mm 20 years ago, so seems particularly fitting. See you all back here to compare notes...

Went to the Glasgow screening last night (in a very cold warehouse!)
Very similar to the previous blu-ray unsurprisingly. Definitely more green in the exterior shots than before though and also a bit brighter. Will be interesting to see what diference HDR makes. Also got to meet the guys behind Alien War: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_War ..who were there with a stand of Alien memrobellia. They seemed hopeful it might return at some point.

Saw this last night. I spot-checked a few key scenes on the BD before and after the showing. As far as my untrained eyes can tell, the grading is identical. The digital fix to the chestburster escape is still present as well. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same master that the BD was struck from. So a bit disappointing but an amazing experience to see it on the big screen all the same.
