Here's how I do it :
- I made a 1080p x264 RipBot264 conversion of the UHD that I can open in my old Xvid4PSP software, that tells me at which frame I stop.
- I type the frame numbers in Notepad.
- I then open my Blu-ray remux in Xvid4PSP and search for the same frames (I stop at the 1st frame of any given shot to be sure it's the same)
- I type the frame numbers in the same Notepad.
- I compare the numbers and calculate the difference.

I guess a version of VirtualDubMod that opens x264.mkv can also tell you at which frame you are. I know my old one does it with Xvid encodes I still make to work on my subs.

According to IMDb, the lint shot is on the Fullscreen side while the Widescren side uses a different shot of Vicki.

The difference in length is only 2 seconds from what i see. The UHD is 2:06:18 and the Old BD is 2:06:20. What program do you use to mux/sync?

I just muxed the audio from a 720p MP4 rip of the Old BD to a 720p MP4 rip of the Remastered transfer as a test, and it is perfectly in sync. I didn't see any scenes that were out of sync.

I used MKVToolnix Gui

I think where the sync is just a few frames out most people wouldn't really notice. I made the same mistake myself recently with the Licence to Kill LD audio. The sync seemed perfect to me throughout but in reality it was a couple of frames adrift.

So syncing the existing BD track will probably be fine for now but I'm super-excited to get PDB/bronan's accurately synced LD track whenever it's ready. Smile

yeah, the same thing happened when I synced The old 5.1 DVD Mix of Terminal Velocity (1994) to the newer HD transfer. After I muxed it, i had to add another delay to get it perfectly in sync.

I used the same program, it would not render the video or playback at all for some reason.

I need a grown up to do the leg work lol.
I have always been OK with video but sound I am terrible at

I just played around with this myself. The old BD audio does not sync perfectly to the UHD or the remastered BD. There are minor frame differences throughout. I found that an initial offset of -144ms gives a degree of sync that is acceptable to me but it's not perfect and I very much look forward to a properly synced track.
