Though the pictures themselves are rather rough being projection images, they do seem to show off more color than the regrade. Less yellows and more blues, though idk how accurate that is given I don't think any of us knows the camera settings.

Yeah for sure. Well, mine was based on a trailer, so there's that. I'm sure one could likely get a better result using these as a reference, if one can somehow work around the inevitable clipping/black crush issues. But another problem is that the regrade uses one LUT across the entire movie, and as such if you have two scenes that aren't consistent to each other it messes with the result, which in a complete OCN remaster is very likely to be the case. To give an example, if two scenes in the Blu Ray master during LUT generation should have the same color, but don't, then they can't both arrive at the same result and it's something in between. I know I should probably be putting in more work to fit individual scenes like you did, but I'm lazy as hell and glad I get anything done at all. Big Grin

Have you checked the previous blu-ray master of the movie? I know I have my disc around somewhere, but I wouldn't be surprised if perhaps the older one came from an Inter-Neg or something given there are some notable color differences (though I don't know what goes on BTS with the creation of these masters; For all I know, the differences could just be from digital grading rather than actual source material). Also out of curiosity, what version of the Willarob scan was it? I noticed one on YouTube and one on Vimeo, and the latter one looks more balanced color-wise.

It's a common mistake on many short films and surprisingly, many films and series.

But... what if they want the credits to be white? What purpose is there in adding yellow to white credits?
Finest kind.

My educated guess? Color temperature thing. If I recall right (don't quote me), I believe I've heard projector bulbs in the 80s were cooler than the ones used in the 90s and up? Thus, if one were to print text at a warmer color temperature, it'd be projected as white. Again though, don't take my word on that.

Thanks, but don't get your hopes up too much as far as I'm concerned, I'm not currently planning a v2.0 of this. But maybe someone else feels inclined to something.
