Disney+ Star Wars is 4K

So I was at this friend's house, he owns a PC and thousands DVDs & Blu-rays.

He showed me how they do it. It's nut it's basically an app for PC that find the steaming url for your content.

You copy paste the url in it, then you choose the subs and sounds you want (yes you can custom it!) and then you click, and in whatever time it takes, you end up with a 1/1 of the streaming file. Crazy.

This?  Not a chance.

So the old film he ruined you won't watch, but if he ruins the new ones you will?
Absolutely. But is it really possible to 'ruin' the Disney SW trilogy?

If you want details how streaming service content is ripped, there is a great article at TorrentFreak: https://torrentfreak.com/the-scene-pirat...ix-190707/

I'm probably the minority, but I'd absolutely love if they just turned GL's original sequel scripts into movies. I know he was probably trying something really eccentric, but I'm all here for it. It certainly can't be any worse than what they ended up doing.

It's sad that we will probably never even know what was in those scripts. We'll never know George's deeper thoughts on the lore (apparently it was gonna go in-depth about that) and his plans and ideas about the universe. Let that sink in, it's kind of sad in my opinion.

Some details HAVE been leaked of GL's outlines. It was going to delve into the Whills being quantum beings that communicate with the outside world via Midi-chlorians. I'm not kidding. What I heard sounded dreadful. You don't pull that kind of crap out in the final films without the slightest hint of it before hand.

I would have preferred Disney shot the Heir to Empire trilogy. It would have made existing fans happy, they wouldn't have had to move so much of their novels into Legend, and it would pretty much have been a guaranteed hit.

Back on topic: Is there any word of 4k77 etc. using the new transfers for clean up? (Obviously someone still needs to rip them first, but I doubt that will be long.)

Oh, and TheDigitalBits did a good review of the new transfers yesterday: https://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-tw...11319-1800

I'd still rather have seen Lucas' original vision for the third trilogy instead of the mess we got with Disney's 7 and 8 (and probably 9). Disney could still have done side movies for the next 20 years. Love or hate the prequels, they had strong stories and amazing world building marred by bad writing and directing. The sequels have terrible storytelling and world building with mediocre writing and good direction.

Agree that Thrawn trilogy would have been a much better second choice.

Sounds like a much more sophisticated version of the Youtube downloader on JDownoader... Crazy... and cool!

It sounds like Stamper's friend might actually be a 'scene' member.

Here is a great analysis of the HDR in the OT masters:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGZmMjPJiAk

the TL;DR is that the OT is most likely a SDR to HDR global conversion whereas something like Force Awakens is a true HDR grade

Yeah, the HDR is almost certainly fake, but people seem quite pleased with the level of detail, even at the low bitrate.  And apparently the Atmos mixes aren't bad.  It would be interesting to hear what schorman and hairy_hen make of them.
