I left a request for HDB. I am sure that in the near future the disk will be placed there.

Tell me, did anyone get this Blu Ray?

Today my request was completed and the disc was uploaded to HDBits.
Disc Title: The Haunting 1999 1080p AUS Blu-ray AVC DTS-HD MA 5.1-CultFilms™ Disc Size: 33,127,103,088 bytes Protection: AACS Playlist: 00003.MPLS Size: 33,065,385,984 bytes Length: 1:52:41.546 Total Bitrate: 39.12 Mbps Video: MPEG-4 AVC Video / 32973 kbps / 1080p / 23.976 fps / 16:9 / High Profile 4.1 Audio: English / DTS-HD Master Audio / 5.1 / 48 kHz / 4220 kbps / 24-bit (DTS Core: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 1509 kbps / 24-bit) had my copy delivered the other day. had a quick skim through it.
No menu authored on this release. literally barebones. You get the Aussie copyright warning and Umbrella ident then straight to the film. Video - it's a dated HD transfer but it still holds up on first impressions. saw a bit of print damage on the opening titles. compression looks ok so far Audio - juicy. skipped to a couple of specific scenes and the bass is powerful. need to compare with the R1 DTS-ES DVD. No Matrix flagging on my amp so it's 5.1 and not 6.1. Since it's 21 years old now I think it doesn't have the same aggressiveness as I've heard on more recent titles but it's still impressive. Quite a few titles from the 90's had a pretty impressive audio mix. was worth the £10.70 purchase!

Australians are the most hacky publishers, usually they don’t worry about the source, but add what they have, very often the sound on the publications is very weak, but fortunately it’s very decent.

There's something to be said for this approach. If more studios simply slapped what they had on a disc and didn't mess with it, our work would probably be easier.

This was discussed earlier, neither Dolby or DTS had a discrete 6.1 theatrical format in the 35mm era, the rear surround was matrix encoded. SDDS was 7.1 but that was 5 front, 2 rear (plus LFE).
