I saw the thread now. I'm alright here (Italy), just letting you know. Luckly one of my current jobs was already done from home, online, and my second job, although reduced, has been moved to home for the time being, so I managed to keep both. We're not allowed to go anywhere but to the supermarket, chemist or to the workplace if this hasn't been shut down, so yeah, tough times. Deliveries and food supply chain is still working fine. I wish I had free time to enjoy some films or TV shows but I have strict deadlines and I've never worked so much as in this period, how ironic. I'm lucky, of course. Just a little worried for my now elderly parents. I hope they develope a vaccine soon and we can put this past us. The air in town has never been cleaner though

Agreed. Further, it's honestly what everyone should have done anyway when there was still time. If people just keep going to the store daily like in normal times that only makes it easier for the virus to spread and that's bad for everybody. There may be a degree of selfishness in the decision but it also has the positive effect of allowing them to isolate themselves and improve the overall situation.

People think for themselves and don't give a toss about the others. So IMHO I don't care anymore if they die of food deprivation or the virus, than they care about me and my family. They have no empathy, so one shouldn't have any to them. They are trash fighting over toilet paper. It's the lowest form of life. I know I'm hard, but you have to be hard to survive. Growing old, you grow less tolerant of egoists who only care about themselves. Well it's the human race, if tomorrow they say the food chain stops, people will fight to the death in supermarkets, it's a given.

Now let's smile and enjoy some fanres stuff while being confined LOL

I didn't mean you and no need to stock up as there is a 22 days flow of merchandise (meaning if all production stopped, you can still have full shelves for 22 days).

What I have no compassion for is people panicking, thinking for themselves, and putting others in danger which is what happens when you go to a market and buy all the water, toilet paper, cans, milk etc. resulting in empty shelves. We live together but many think for themselves regardless of the others. This is animal thinking, not human. It's basically George A. Romero Zombie / Dawn of the Dead.

But things will settle as the ones who stripped off the shelves will stay at home eating their bad food while we can still buy fresh stuff.

Now there is some major improvements this disaster will bring: end of pollution, economical reset, re-localisation of china produced products to inner borders. I think in the end just like WWII, better times lay ahead.

Plus you won't be bothered buying toilet paper for the next 6 months as the offer will be large and no one will stand next to you while you choose.

Sure you meant me, at least implicitly; you called out people who stock up food, which I did. If you go buy fresh food daily and end up infecting some old person unintentionally and they die, will that count as selfless behavior too? I wonder. At least for me, it's not about the fear that production will stop, it's about avoiding contact. The virus spreads through the air (not just from coughs and sneezes), it can wander from one room to another if doors are open. In a supermarket, the same thing happens very likely.

I have no doubt that production will keep going just fine for the most part, so it's not like stocking up leaves anyone to starve, especially someone like you who prefers to buy fresh food anyway. I'll agree though that people hoarding stuff to resell it are dicks.

Well the two gals fighting in the second video are clearly insane, but I don't see much wrong in the first video, just a bunch of people buying stuff.

I don't mean to start a fight over this or anything, just defend my position since strong words have been said. But, since I've said what I had to say so I'm cool with burying the hatchet.
