When comparing stills from a widescreen and a fullscreen shot from Hardcore, I found that it was shot as an open-matte movie, with the top and bottom chopped from the DVD widescreen release. I made a quick comparison based on the limited sources I have.

I'm told that the whole picture was restored for the videos and cable un-matted showings. Is there a possibility of a fan-res being assembled from these?
