I'm following the contest since few years, and I must admit there were quite some boring and unispiring songs in the past, still I always found some of them interesting; in this last edition, I can say the really boring and/or unispiring and/or flat songs are very few, while there are more good ones - I'd say around 30/40%.
For example, the ones I like most are from:
Lithuania - "Discoteque"
Cyprus - "El Diablo"
Azerbaijan - "Mata Hari"
Ukraine - "Shum"
San Marino - "Adrenalina"
Daði og Gagnamagnið - "10 Years"
(in broadcasting order)
plus few others that I don't remember now.
Of course, as always, only IMHO.
What I never liked was that there were "friend countries" at the moment of final vote - for example Scandinavia, Benelux, ex-URSS etc. forming almost an alliance... it would be great to be honest and vote only for the best songs, but we are not living in an utopia, so it will remain only a dream.
After the semi-finals my favourites from this years contest would be (in non-perticular order)
- San Marino (Senhit & Flo Rida - Adrenalina)
- Switzerland (Gjons Tears - Tout l'univers)
- Iceland (Daði & Gagnamagnið - 10 Years)
- Norway (TIX - Fallen Angel)
- Finland (Blind Channel - Dark Side)
Haven't seen the full Big 5-performances though - France and Italy seem to have a good chance this year according to the bookmakers.
The German entry is definitely one of the worst, even here nobody knows why they picked that song. It's just terrible all over and deserves to be in the bottom 5. After seeing the short clip on the first semi it also seems he's running out of breath from all that crazy jumping around. Guess the song will become a self-fulfilling prophecy: I don't feel hate, I just feel sorry.

You obviously haven't heard our one yet; James Newman for the UK is just awful. He's a charisma black hole and his song sounds like it belongs in a cheap second hand car advert.
Britain being awful at Eurovision is pretty much tradition by this point though.
Program material is recorded on the other side of this disc...
