[Request] Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) LD original 4.0 track
#1
Does anyone have Seven Brides for Seven Brothers LD?

I’m looking for the original 4.0 audio track (Cinemascope)

In the highly likely chance that no-one here has it, would you be interested in buying a copy and sending it to one of the members here with a LD setup to be captured?

I have it at home... sadly I don't know if/when I could afford a trip back-and-forth with a car/van and take with me at least a player, the capture rig and some discs.

Yep, shipping would cost less - if only I'd choose to get only hardware and few discs, but not by that much... but I do not trust a lot shipping services; not only I don't want to risk a damage of goods, but also to lose them definitely! Eek

I believe the first non-anamorphic Warner DVD released around 1999/2000 has the same transfer of the CinemaScope version as this LD. The LD and DVD's 5.1 tracks are actually 4.0 with dual mono rears and no LFE.

The flat version has a different mix and that seemed to be 2.0 surround across the LD, SE DVD, and the Warner Archive Blu.

The first MGM non-anamorphic DVD also had the original 4.0 mix in discrete Dolby Digital.

Thank you very much, I think it's best to wait until someone can capture the lossless audio to preserve it in the best possible quality. If finally no one could, I would think about doing the sync with the lossy audio.
