Speed (1994) Stereo mix synced to 4K/Blu-ray
#1
I took the stereo mix from the first DVD release of 'Speed' and synced it to the 4K release. A very different mix compared to the DTS-HD MA 5.1 track. I guess it comes down to preference which sounds better to you.

It should sync to the remastered BD as well.
I converted it to a 16-bit .wav file.

Let me know if you're interested.

Speed had a lot of multiple mixes allegedly, despite only having Dolby stereo SR digital in the credits. Apparently there was also a DTS Mix. Fox had everything covered for theaters that went digital but didn’t have full 5.1.

Speed was mixed 5.1 native late into production, a choice partly responsible for the budget going over what Fox were comfortable with. Like other tentpoles of this era, a Dolby Stereo mix was made for theaters without Dolby Digital and analog setups like TV/video.

The DD and DTS 5.1 mixes are very similar, just different volume and base levels at certain points. Starting with the 2001 DVD, I believe they went back to the uncompressed 5.1 master mix and did a few "near field" adjustments for home theater applications, which is why the DVD/BD/UHD mixes sound slightly different than the DTS LD mix or the 5.1 on the 1998 non-anamorphic DVD.

Just to be clear, does this sync up to the UHD and the Blu-ray? Because some Blu-ray are 4K sourced, but do not always have the same sync as the UHD version.

Checking caps-a-holic's BDInfo scans, they both have the exact same runtime.

The poster for Speed has the SR Dolby Stereo Digital logo that was used for early 5.1 mixes.
