I took the stereo mix from the first DVD release of 'Hook' and synced it to the 4K release and the original Blu-ray release, since they both have their pros and cons.
There was one tiny edit difference between those two releases near the last third of the film which resulted in having to create two different audio files, one for each.
When you equalize the volume with both the 5.1 and 7.1 remix i still think this stereo mix sounds better. Especially the dialogue in many scenes sounds clearer and John Williams' great score is much better mixed with the rest of the sfx. I even read someone thought the score was also buried too deep in the new 7.1 Atmos remix.
Ironic how a 256kbps AC3 file can sound better than a modern 7.1 Atmos mix. Bit that's just my opinion. Let me know if you want to check it out for yourself!
