I guess I have to wait 60 days. I'm eager to see this. I'm confused, did he make multiple versions? I really wanted to see the version with the HK original music. Is it only a version that mixes and matches the Miramax music? Or is everything after the plane opening the original?

The FW reconstructed version with original sync-sound is very much the movie that I remember watching from a copied VHS back in the day. The original voices of the actors, as bad/goofy as they are, are all part of the appeal.

I know it's been said before, but WB really need to give this movie the restoration it deserves

Maybe someday they will. But I've often wondered if the original negative has been destroyed or lost?

At this point, when it comes to Jackie Chan films, it's probably the only movie of his to not even have an anamorphic remaster of its original theatrical version!

I do happen to have a scanned "grind house version" with hardcoded Chinese subs. It's not full 1080p resolution. But if someone with better resources and skills than me can clean it up and cover up those subs, it'll be the closest we can get.

That's why Jackie always complained about waste of film in his bloopers. It was a precious commodity! xD

I'm really look forward to seeing this, is it still work in progress. I have a Hong Kong video release by Speedy Video which I bought from an advert in Combat Magazine back when I was at school in 1996 which was before it's western release. And I have a VCD release aswell. I think it's the same cut but the subtitles are in the black area as its widescreen I think on the VHS I have you can barely read the subtitles as they are within the image.
Apart from some deleted scenes or changed scenes I think what bothered me most was the soundtrack. Where the original had electric guitar rock music during the fight scenes Miramax had more orchestral music.
Not sure if the original HK cut will ever get a Blu Ray release.

It feels disingenuous for me to just start leaving random comments as I wait to seem more "engaged" for other project makers. I have to wait 60 days to PM as Film Whisperer requires a PM, hence me saying I'm waiting. How can I comment on his projects if I can't even view them in that time? Am I now unwelcome because his projects are what brought me to the forum in the first place and interest me? If I don't interact with every project on here, am I now disrespecting those project makers? I'm trying to understand your reasoning, as you seem upset at the first comment I made on a project was to tell the creator I'm anxiously waiting to experience his project?
