SpoRv, any chance of you testing to see its possible to fix the framing of the better compressed US version using the Italian for the extra image at the edges.

Dunno, but to get colors like kk650's regrade, just use this simple script in avisynth:
Code:
coloryuv(off_y=4,off_u=8,off_v=0)
tweak(sat=1.2)
can't say it's identical, but really REALLY close - tweaking the settings a bit could help.
Could be interesting to apply this script to other Immagine Ritrovata restorations...
Try with this garbage here: Last tango in Paris

The new 2017 italian disc AVC encode improves both the encoding and the colors, so no need for PanUp as it looks like it's the best version available of this film for now.

I've helped Caps-a-holic by adding the 2017 release and you can already compare it here

Just picked up the 2017 Blu-Ray from Amazon. Thinking of creating a 229 minute cut using it and the old blu for one scene (there’s a transition after the Deborah rape scene that’s altered in the extended version). Would then look to regrade and sync the LD mono.
In terms of regrading, has anyone come across any 35mm references? The old blu ‘seems’ pretty accurate but I do like KK650’s version as well.

The old blu is not the film.
The widescreen Pal LD of the european cut with both english and french mono is the only version I know that looks like the original, and it's consistent with the hdtv rips on the russian site. (but those are pan & scan)

Would the US LD be the same as the PAL colour-wise? I’ll double-check but I’m sure it’s the widescreen one I have.
