Is there any way to identify a true silver retention print without needing to watch it/unroll it to the frames, or so? Or a list which movies had true Silver Retention Prints in which country, because I think non US prints might have been done cheaper, and never got a movie as Silver Retentions...

I guess there may be info on the head/tail leaders, but the main thing is that the density of silver prints is greater and the metallic silver blocks infra-red radiation whereas colour dyes do not. But both of those require examining the print or specialist testing gear

Ah, I remember reading that article. Quote:The CCE process was deemed too expensive for the majority of first and second-run prints, which were then struck from an inter-positive that had itself been bleach-bypassed, which approximated the effect of the CCE process. This meant that there would be differences between the first-run showings of the film, and subsequent runs I wonder if the international prints even ever got the "first run" treatment at all, or directly where just done by the bleach bypassed inter-positive.

For example was it particularly desaturated, were certain scenes incredibly dark etc |
