I can't keep track of this any more. the last blu-ray release of Aliens from that Alien box set is great, and has more visual resolution than this 4k/bluray release. We can't say that for the Abyss or True Lies because they have no official release. Theres an HD open matte of T2 from cable floating around that has lots of great detail.

Open matte? I thought the only T2 open matte were fanmade with filled corners.

https://youtu.be/UksxTfw7CRc this guy seems a bit schilly, I thought he was more objective than this. The comments are right; if the OCN was damaged, then you go to the interpositive or 35mm for the replacement shots. Why does the spanish blu-ray (based on the DVHS?) look so much better?

I endured about 9 minutes of that video, waiting to se if this hack will even mention the obnoxious tealing on this edition of TEAL LIES and then he uttered "pleasing stealy cold blues" in the opening scene.

I thought the same thing. What cold blues is he talking about? Sure,the 4K release wins in many aspect against the DVD. But this doesn't clear it from the obvious DNR and horrible AI upscaling/generated details.

Besides the 2015 release of Terminator 2 And the 2011 release of Aliens both have their flaws and the American version of Aliens are The only version with The original stereo, nothing at all for his films. I think I want to pound my head on a Wall.
