It seems to me that in pure HEVC there is no dark, HDR layers can be added separately to the hybrid, a dark shade always gives DoVi

Are you sure the screencaps are from the NOR BD not the US BD?
Engl. subtitles hardcoded I've only seen on the US but not on the NOR BD. Both are the version without Universal logo squeezed in between MGM and gunbarrel like the Open Matte (ivi). Don't know about the UHD, I watch normal BDs. Still no 4K.
