[Released] The Snowman and the Snowdog (2012) HDTV AC3 5.1 synced to UK BD

Even though this special was originally mixed in 5.1 surround, the Blu-ray release only has the Lt/Rt heavily clipped mix, and thankfully because of my love of torrent hunting for rare versions of films, I was able to find the HDTV rip of the original airing of the short without ad breaks. Did check the part after "Light the Night" which is where the ad breaks happen on re-runs and that seems to sync fine.

I think I might be able to do the same thing with Over the Garden Wall's Blu-ray release if I have time, given that the R1 DVD has the same issue as Snowdog.

Oh cool!

Would love to see OtGW. Do you have the HDTVs for that? I remember there being some debate on weather or not that even aired in 5.1 or if it was always just stereo.

I do have them, and they are in 448kbps 5.1, but I think they're Dolby Pro Logic upmixes, meaning that Cartoon Network only does 2.0. I was saying that the DVD does use an actual discrete mix.

I have a rip of The Snowman and the Snowdog from Amazon with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio. The NTSC DVD also has a 5.1 mix on it. I don't know if they are the same as the HDTV broadcast.

🤔 Didn’t know about them. I thought I remembered that the Amazon rip is not available to my knowledge, though E-AC3 640kbps would honestly sound the best than the DVD’s 448kbps.
