I love that film. The earliest LD from the US was pretty bad looking, I don't know about the audio.

Anybudy have these LDs of Overboard (1987) and ways to cap their audio?
?https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/05387/ML101197/Overboard ?https://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/46119/G78F5578/Overboard Would like to sync up to the Severin BD as the audio on that is faulty (they used the same audio track from MGM's HD master where sections go back and forth between mono and stereo).

This LD track is exactly the same as the Artisan DVD 2.0 albeit slightly better for being uncompressed. I'll sync it if nobody else is already doing so.

Great, thanks a lot for this information Turisu!
It would be awesome if you could work on it. Thanks a lot!
Does anyone have the 1989 50th Anniversary (not the one by Criterion) or 1991 LaserDisc, both marked ML101656, of The Wizard of Oz (1939)? According to the Bad Audio on Blu-ray blog, it's the blogger's favorite audio of the movie. Although it's not entirely free from manipulation, it's the best it sounds, even if it's truncated sometimes. I would like the audio ripped and synced to replace the Dolby Digital 1.0 mono track on my MKV file rip of the movie from my 70th Anniversary Emerald Edition Blu-ray.

I left for vacation before I could get the Image disc ripped. Here is the 1988 Image release vs the remastered Widescreen edition. The Image smokes both it and the JP releases, no noise reduction at all, and much better overall sound. They monkeyed with the stereo imaging or something that gives the Widescreen a bizarre sound in comparison. I am working on a sync of the Image to the UHD, but it might take a little time since its cut differently with 1-2 more frames than the UHD on most shots. That fits with my experience watching the WS disc. The bizarre quality you mention is that it loses the center channel lock in the matrixing so you'll frequently have dialogue laughably go behind you. I wasn't sure if it was the mix or the disc itself so that proves that. Shame really because for LD it's one of the best picture transfers I've seen.
