LaserDiscs needed for replacing BD audio

Totally understand, keen to see how it compares to the Blu-Ray audio. Just waiting on picking up a couple more after payday and I’ll send them on to you.

And, curious to know if the BD has the same mix (but probably not!)

Well the BD is 5.1 but how much of a ‘remix’ it is I don’t know. Might have to enlist Moshram for some help once I have it!

the stereo mix on the 2 DVD releases of Trading Places might be closer to the LD PCM Stereo Remix (i'm not sure if the DVD releases restored the music that was absent on the LBX LD) .does anyone know what music was replaced on the letterbox Laserdisc version?

I wonder if it’s a similar situation to Jaws? Did something change in the US in the 90’s regarding music rights?

What’s weird with Jaws most video releases prior to 1995 alternated between the original track and restored track. I have a few VHS editions, some of which have the same cover, but different music track depending on the tape.

are you listening to the DTS HD 5.1 audio or the original Dolby 2.0 mix? the original mix is on the 2006-2007 UE DVD and on the Blu-ray (although it is lossy)

on the 2002 DVD release of The Sound Of Music, they have a Dolby 4.1 mix and a Dolby 2.0 mix, that may be derived from the 70mm and the 35mm Printmaster. I will have to track down a copy so I can post them both here.

The Dialnorm on the DD 2.0 track can make it sound worse than it should. If you have a BD drive for your PC, play the Dolby 2.0 mix in MPC-HC, or Kodi,  it will sound WAY better.

the VHS of Moonraker did sound very nice, but its been forever since i've heard it (probably 14-15 years!)
