and wasted two minutes to download and test it... then I realized a thing...
"what if we use this for a 'fingerprint' of the movies we are using?"
It could be useful to make comparison between a movie with different color grading at a glance!

The movie Symbol has had only one Blu-ray release in Japan. Unfortunately, it has hard-coded subtitles on the non-Japanese speaking dialogue. [Image: eef4c1405709121.jpg]

There is, however, a PAL DVD of this movie which doesn't have hard-coded subs.

I would like to use the DVD to patch over the subtitles, keeping most of the BD resolution, but removing the subtitles.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to do this with video. Can someone give me some helpful information on how to do this?

the dvds and blu-rays only feature the 5.1 tracks and all these movie were never

Just read about some new pro tools beginning offered to the public. For people just beginning, on a limited budget or who are no good with AVIsynth (like me), there are some great things out there.

The first is not newly release but I still highly recommend it. If you need to color correct, Blackmagic's Davinci Resolve Lite is one of the best programs you can use. It recently moved to version 12:

They also just released a copy of their VFX software Fusion for free:

Fusion may not be 100% useful for project makers here but when it was released it forced the Foundry to make a non-commercial version of Nuke. Besides being great for VFX work, Nuke contains a whole host of tools for moving, arranging and fixing images:

Both programs can do limited editing but are no where near the level of a pro NLE, like Premiere, Final Cut or the big boy Avid. What's nice is later this year Avid will release a stripped down, free version of their Composer software called, Avid Media Composer First:

The details are still sketchy at this time but it the release offers half what the full software does, this will be a great program.

Pretty much all of these are locked into the 1080p world opposed to 4K. But when you put them all together you can achieve some great results.

Hi, can anyone here do a bit-perfect digital rip capture of the 1990 Fantasia LD?

I think this is the best source for the original soundtrack with Deems Taylor's narration. It won't sync up with the more recent DVD and Blu-Ray releases, however it still would be good to preserve.

Well, as a lot of you must know, the theatrical release of "Dracula" of John Badham had fantastic live colors although Badham wanted to film in b/w.

The first Laserdisk release had the theatrical color.

But, in theory due to the pressures of the director, all subsequent editions including DVD and BD, were modified by attenuating the colors.

Well, my request is to recover the orginal colors from the first edition of Laserdisk or some copy of 8mm (there exist).

I'm a spanish fan of the cinema in general, and 80 fantasy/horror/fantastic in particular.

I have a big collection of originals DVD and BD (near of 3.000) but in my country, Spain, many films hot have their own edition or one very poor quality edition.

So, I love the custom editions made by fans

I belive that is an amazing work.
