Cinegy Cinescore - free benchmark for video production
#1
I'd be interested to see what sort of performance people are getting on their PCs.
Give this a run when you are bored, it doesn't require an install, you can run it from a USB stick if you want.

Count me in, but... may you explain something more before I download, just to let also other people know. Thanks!

EDIT: IIRC it's a benchmark test, isn't true? I remember to have seen it during my quest for the new PC...

Tomorrow I would try it in the new PC!

Now that we are here: what do you think about HDD Vs SSD speed, in relation to our projects? I see that, even if now the new PC is ten time faster than the old one, read/write speed is always under 100MB/s, (often just 10/20/30MBs) so I don't see the point to get one for editing video purposes - apart fast copy of big files.

CPU was 1340 but nothing for GPU. I know i could still use a much faster pc.

It does require installing NET Framework 4.6 if you don't already have it.

I got 977 for CPU (Quad Core i5-4460 @ 3.2GHz). The best CPU I could upgrade to is i7 4770k - I don't think it would be worth it. What kind of GPU could I use for video editing? One that I could buy now for my current PC, and later when I get a more powerful PC move it across to the new PC (and of course get a second one for SLi down the road)? I currently have 16GB of DDR3-1600MHz memory installed, (2x 8GB), my current motherboard can handle up to 32GB (4x 8GB). Is it worth me getting two more sticks of RAM for this PC?

By the way, my motherboard specs are here.

Thanks.

Well, I think an upgrade from your actual CPU (6640 score; https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu...hz&id=2230) to an i7-4790K (11186 score: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu...40+4.00GHz) is a great improvement...
Also, a "simple" i7-4770 (non K) at 9806 score is a huge improvement.. maybe you could but it from me, so I could upgrade to a 4790K without spending almost the cost of the PC! Big Grin

Mine is CPU 1997, GPU 1830, but I have a big file transfer happening in the background, not sure if that affects it.
