[Help] Correct Bad Frame Rate Conversion
#11
Weirdly im getting a color space error when my script calls SRestore?
Even though Im converting to YV12!

Code:
MPEG2Source("VTS_03_1.d2v").converttoyv12
yadifmod2(mode=3)
SRestore()

[Image: VWj.jpg]

Ive tried with seperatefields() also.

You shouldn't need to convert to YV12, because the source is already YV12. Take that line out. It's something in the .avsi that's causing the problem. What that could be, I don't know. I haven't tried any of the recent updates to SRestore(), and I'm away from home at present and can't check.

Try loading MaskTools. And you don't need to separate the fields.

EDIT: I guess your video might be exiting YadifMod in a different color space. (I don't use it.) Try putting the call to ConvertToYV12() after that. You could also call Info() at that point in the script to check the color space of the video at that stage.

CaptainObvious2 here... what if you can find a PAL DVD with that material? Maybe it's the untouched one...

Finding an NTSC DVD with the material is likely to be by far the best solution.

I should have clarified that the only purpose of calling SeparateFields() is to establish the nature of the frame/field blending. It shouldn't be used for deinterlacing. My guess is being a 60i>50i downconversion every 5th field is blended?

Looking at the various DVD releases on DVD compare:

http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=1539

It seems that while some of the featurettes were released in NTSC territories many were PAL only. It's possible (but highly unlikely) that the conversion was handled differently for different releases.

Ive  tried these suggestions bud, but still no luck.
The info() does indeed tell me its yv12 with no conversion.
Ive even rendered a de-interlaced 50p lossless version and loaded that into the script and I still get the same error msg.

I have the UK R2 listed there. I figured all the PAL discs would just have the same problem.
The LIVE R1 looks like it has the featurette. The German Blu may have it all in it's original form but is out of stock on Amazon De and to expensive to justify on ebay!

This is as much an exercise in learning how to fix such problems than the footage at hand to be honest Smile

It might be a mt-masktools-26.dll/mt-masktools25.dll issue. Try both. What version of AviSynth are you using?

Will have a look at what you suggested bud. Thanks again for your help Smile

I was home very briefly today and tried out the latest version of SRestore(). There were no error messages, so I don't know what you are doing wrong. All I can suggest is that you make sure that you have all the required plugins, ensure that everything is up to date, and try loading plugins manually to see if that helps.
