Seeing how Top Gun 3D was a 4K to 2K Restoration, They would use the raw 4K scan that was the base for Top Gun 3D’s restoration. That’s what I meant by 3D but better because they went back to that raw 4K scan. Too bad I don’t have a 4K TV and 4K Blu-ray player otherwise I might say something about HDR 10.

I didn’t know this but the remastered Days of Thunder (Another Tom Cruise film from Paramount) comes out the same day as Top Gun in the US (May 19th) on the new Paramount presents line in a new remastered Blu-ray and 4K disc. (NASCAR Folks)

Speaking of the Paramount Presents line, why is Top Gun not part of that line? It would’ve been an easy fit besides Dolby Atmos All they have to do is make the Dobly Atmos track exclusive to the UHD Disc And use the 4K master with DTS-HD MA 5.1 in 1080p. (The stand alone release of the remastered Blu-ray is Standard release.) It lights my rage up completely.

I don't mind diversions and free flowing topics. It's all Top Gun so it's all good but after 6 posts perhaps this is best for another thread to be started...

I don't necessarily think IMAX Enhanced means a different aspect ratio. I think IE is just the metadata junk that IMAX adds to the audio and video. But need confirmation.
Anyone see IE in person?
