I've been looking for a preserv of that one for a while. I had it but like an idiot I sold it (you have to understand, at the time, one wanted the film as shown in the theater, not doctored with some weird songs that never were there).
I can check if you let me know what differences to look for.

Related: I'm thinking about doing exactly this with AIRPLANE! but the DVD sources I know about are all 16:9.
Was there ever a 4:3 one, as far as anybody knows?

There's a 4:3 MGM DVD of Death Wish III as well. i have the Open Matte DVD of Death Wish III in my collection. MGM originally released Death Wish II-IV in Open Matte 4:3 only. it wasn't released on DVD in Widescreen in the USA until TGG direct released it on DVD in a 3 pack in 2010 (3 movies on one disc)

WRT DH2 I capped my full-frame JPN LD for PDB's regrade project, obviously it has subtitles in picture throughout.
I may also have The Warriors PAL VHS somewhere
Thanks for the info on ED2, for this one I'd like to include the extra footage from the German bootleg disc and the Mexican TV Version. Bigrob has got a good looking VHS capture of Die Hard 2 he is going to send over but The Warriors would be good.

DVD Rewind is a great place to check but it doesn't have everything. It's showing every release has been widescreen, maybe there is a foreign release not listed or failing that it's VHS. I guess you could recreate the P&S using HD video but that would be a lot of work.

I've actually got a TV Version of Death Wish 3 I'm looking at, however I'm expecting it to be odd shots here and there not anything significant. With Death Wish 2 however there is the TV Version, Greek Version and Uncut version so that would be a good one to do.

Actually I would love both Death Wish 2 and 3 if you don't mind uploading them. I'm only 25 minutes into the Death Wish 3 TV Version and there are already quite a few extra bits, including one with Charles Bronson using an upturned mattress as a punching bag!

I've almost finished an edit of Mad Max 2 reincorporating the TV Version footage and it worked really well with a 4:3 DVD.
So does anyone happen to have 4:3 SD releases of the following?
Child's Play 2 - doesn't appear to have been released on DVD but maybe there was a foreign release or a VHS rip?
Death Wish 2 - was released on a MGM DVD
Die Hard 2 - doesn't appear to have been released on DVD but maybe there was a foreign release or a VHS rip?
Evil Dead 2 - was released on a UK DVD
Friday the 13th 4/5 - doesn't appear to have been released on DVD but maybe there was a foreign release or a VHS rip?
Jason Goes to Hell - Japanese, UK and Australian DVDs were 4:3
Freddy's Dead - was released in Thailand
Warriors - doesn't appear to have been released on DVD but maybe there was a foreign release or a VHS rip?
Thanks
I have the Full Screen Open Matte Version of Death Wish 2, but id have to dig through my storage unit to find it The fullscreen (open matte) version from Death Wish 2 was, as far as I know, only released in Brazil (region 4), which uses NTSC just like Region 1. Please note there's no speedup in brazilian discs.
It should be noted this brazilian disc actually has no cuts, and it's the International Version (91:36 NTSC), while R1 is R-Rated Theatrical Version (88:43 NTSC). All other Int. versions besides Brazil are in PAL, so in my opinion they aren't important, due to the 4% speedup.

For all possible versions (4, total) you want to take a look at the Blu-rays: http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=20826
However for Blu-rays you are only going to get Widescreen 1.85:1.
Also, note that the R1 DVD release, from MGM, while it's open matte (4:3), it's actually the R-Rated Theatrical Version (88:43 NTSC). Years later in R1 (DVD) TGG Direct/MGM/Fox released the 1.85:1 version, with the same cut.
The brazilian disc (uncut) was released there by Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment (later known as Sony).
