Quote:I was disappointed, but not surprised to see that the 1972 Warner Bros logo was not restored on the 4K release. This sparked a simple project to recreate the logo, and add it to the start of the film. Soon after I started working on this project, I discovered the ABC broadcast from 1985 and the 1991 Laserdisc have blue credits at the end. I felt it gave the credits an even more unnerving feeling, so I added it back to the film.

The shots with snow are very white in the 4K remaster. When I was watching the 4K remaster, I always thought the snow should be shifted more blue instead of being sharply white. The 2007 Blu-ray had too much blue in my opinion, but I don’t think it should be eradicated completely.

Nice, is your source the 4K? Or did you retime the Blu-ray version?

My source is the 4K and the International Cut will be made from my project.

I haven’t watched it either, but I think it just cuts more of the ghostly elements and the stuff with Danny. It cuts about 20 minutes from the film.

I actually have two, the Blu-ray and the 4:3 WEB-DL. I appreciate the offer though! Smile

The International Cut is currently being rendered and should hopefully be up by tomorrow evening at the latest. This project uses v3.1 with a slight color and contrast adjustment and a few modified shots to bring back some detail that got blown out in the opening credits.

This is fully synced to the International Cut Blu-ray and includes synced versions of the original English DVD and LD mono tracks. 3 edits were made where music was jarring between cuts. This is my preferred version, but I will include a mostly purist edit that fades out the music from when Danny saw the blood elevators into the “Opening Day” title card.

The Russian track was not synced due to voice over issues, this may be included as a stand-alone download to mix into the MKV in the future if I figure it out.

Wow great work Narth, can't wait to check this out!

I wonder if Warner will do it at some point (maybe to cash in on another anniversary) - no guarantees though so really appreciate your efforts given this is the version I grew up with.
