Which version of the Dolby Stereo track is better, the Scream Factory or the Arrow Video?

Bonus question I am asking for answer for: Is the Scream Factory or the Arrow Video bluray better in video?

Is there a CiNEPHiLES release for this title? Usually he evaluates the audio tracks to keep the better original option on top of the remix.
As for video, it's difficult to be sure which one is better. Shout/Scream looks bluer which is rather consistent with Cundey’s cinematography as per usual and he approved the transfer. Arrow is not that blue and is approved by both Cundey and Carpenter. My rule of thumb, when reading about any of those approvals, is run! Get the one with no advertised approval instead. There's a 35mm scan in the wild, but I can’t say if it was done properly or got the LUT treatment that shifted the whole thing colorwise.

I think somebody should make a project using the 35mm scan and the best bluray/4k to add in missing frames between reel changes in the scan, while using the best theatrical Dolby Stereo mix possible.

I've already synced Signature LaserDisc [42654] to Rob's scan 24fps.

At this point in time, i'll stick with the Shout Bluray overall. Anything relating to John Carpenter for Arrow blurays, is out of stock. I prefer the Shout BD over the universal masters. If I wanted the laserdisc audio I would PM. Even with the sketchy color grading, I still would choose the Shout BD. If any other release comes to mind, post it here.

So it is a Rob scan... Well, LUTs resulting in color shifting, so it cannot be used as a reference to determine which grading is closer on Blu-ray. The question remains.

Both Shout and Arrow share the same Dolby Stereo track so there's no difference there except for sync which in leads into your second question. IMO the Arrow Blu-Ray is the definitive video source, it has the best grain and the grade is similar to most other releases. I have no idea whether or not it's 100% accurate but it's consistent with everything else and looks nice. The Shout BD has awful filtering and a strange as hell grade and the Universal UHD is... fine enough but I feel it still doesn't look as good as Arrow. sporv wrote a heavily opinionated blogpost on this subject that I think makes the matter much more confusing than it really is. There is a project out there on certain trackers that regrades the Arrow master to the Shout grade if you prefer it's grade for whatever reason.

Back to the audio, the best Dolby Stereo track (as well as 70mm Six-Track) is from the Turbine Media GER BD, they fixed the major sync issue that both tracks have on both the Shout and Arrow so I recommend those tracks fully. Turbine also allegedly they fixed a colorspace issue with Arrow's master but from what I've seen their fix made the whites ever so slightly green for some reason. So Arrow video + Turbine audio is the best copy, I've been working on my own personal remux for some time now.

As for the LD audio, neither of them are 100% the original theatrical mix. The Signature Collection PCM is the closest as it and the AC-3 are allegedly sourced from the 70mm elements but that I have not been able to fully confirm.

And the audio bitrate comparison for the 16-bit [Turbine] vs. 24-bit [Arrow] on the 4.1?

As I read in another thread, only the Turbine has an audio sync fix. All the other editions perpetuate a desync...
