Funny re: The Abyss, but the widescreen version was put on film as it was re-released in theaters.
It makes sense that the Pan & Scan was just made in the video range.

Stamper: Thanks also. The Abyss actually has turned out a lot harder then I thought to IVTC. It starts out fine but somewhere in the middle the cadence gets all screwed up and the combo of dgindex/TFM can't solve it. I would manually fix it but I don't have the skills yet. QTGMC was able to power through it but its VERY slow and the results can range from fantastic to ok, whereas TFM is pretty much always great.

Seems as if the Full Frame Dawn of the Dead European cut is indeed.. full filmed frame.
I'll try to get some frame shots today..
There seem no different in quality in the picture itself. so no partial remaster obivious.
