The Punisher (1989) Japan LD PCM

I thought I still have this LD, but unfortnatly I don't

Anyone still has the LD? The new Koch Media shows the movie in it's uncut version,
which should be identical to the japanese LD. However the Blu-ray only got lossy audio.

A bit-perfect capture (44.1kHz/16bit) should be good enough to sync it to the Blu-ray. If captured video
is also an option, that would be wonderful, especially if the video has an inverse telecine applied.

The new Blu-Ray from Germany (steelbook) shows it has DTS-MA 2.0 audio?

My buddy got his in the post so will ask him to comfirm

Nope. The BD has Dolby 2.0 only. The lossless audio on the package is a typo.

I have this laserdisc. But isn't the recent french release using the original japanese LD audio?

I don't know what the french BD uses. I only know that the latest Blu-ray from Koch Media is 100% Uncut.
If you can capture the LD audio for us, this would be far easier then trying to get the French BD, which might
have a few frames missing, compared to the new German BD.
In other words: Having an untouched source file is better

According to a BD Info Scan on caps-a-holic the French also just have 320kbps Dolby Digital Audio.
Or is there a newer French release?

Yes, they both use the same master, only the germans adjusted all the cut inserts from a newly found french print.

However I'm fairly positive I read the french publisher ripped the Dolby Surround audio from the japanese laserdisc.

So basically a new rip would just be lossless. Not sure it's worth the time since it's commercialy available, even if a bit compressed.

Checked, but I don't have it on the shelf. It's still at the place of the guy I lended it I guess. Will have to check it out.
