They also reconstructed as bonus the localized German text inserts...
I don't think so. Turbine was quite clear on the matter that they have nothing to do with the "stand alone" version (and that it's the standard version anyway), but also they're not interested to release one with the uncut version because of the licensed deal they made with Universal as a joint project for this limited release. Although, there's gonna be a new release from them with all the 8 films and bonus elements without the "Psycho File" book (which was only in german for the last release) and other stuff (posters, cards, etc) for 80 Euros instead. This one will probably be more interesting anyway.
I never said anything about an single disc release. Just that a release that is not as expensive as the original one is release. Said 80 Euro version with 8 discs.
And the mention of the German "reconstruction" was more a site note mention what they did (for the big release). That they got the localized versions to BD. (in the 8 disc sets, the first, big one, and the new, small one).

As the creator of this project, I can definitely say you are better off getting the commercially available US BD that’s been remastered. Audio issues aside (downmixed mono), it’s A) a new restoration B) has the uncut inserts in higher quality.

Also, not to forget, that the UHD is the uncut version, too.

Maybe it's time to declare the project retired in the header!

The new UHD steelbook (which has the original poster artwork on the front) that was released over a month ago has the correct mono mix.

Hello all. Sorry to bring this old thread up, but I was wondering if anyone here made a comparizon of both the UHD (uncut) master from Universal vs the Turbine release ? If so, what it your verdict on the quality ? Worth upgrading ?
Thanks to share your opinion.

Seems if the UHD is an upgrade.
