OK, so most of the time the DTS is much better than the AC3. It was worth buying, then.

There's no official score released for Cube 2, so I'll forget about the isolated score. I really was hoping that one of the DTS channels had the music completely clean, but I guess it doesn't work like that. I contacted the composer by mail and while he was very receptive at first and offered to help, he never answered my second mail. I think I'm going to try again.

Well, even though "regular" DTS is lossy, it still has a much higher max bitrate than AC3 (1536 vs 640) Granted, bigger isn't always better, but in this case it is. However, this doesn't mean that AC3 mixes are garbage. In fact, there are some very good ones out there. When it comes to lossless comparison of DolbyTrueHD VS DTS-HDMA, they should "technically" both be the same, but I have personally experienced a much "warmer" sounding audio from DTS-HDMA vs TrueHD. Also, if I remember right, there is some minor normalization going on in the Dolby encoding process that isn't present for DTS.

Sorry to disappoint you about the "isolated score"

It would be FANTASTIC if you could get the music from the actual composer! Good luck with that quest
