Regarding the Japanese John Woo Box Set, did they just repackage previous releases, or are the discs unique to that collection? Does ABT2 have a digital track?

I would love to see / hear this release

There maybe a brief scene / Shots not included in other releases besides the Tiawan release.
In the church shoot-out just after the pair deside to go out only knowing each others nick names, there are a few brief extra shots including Chow sliding on his stomach firing 2 guns.
I had the Made in Hong Kong release on VHS along with an earlier Palace Pictures release, and it was included in one, if not both of them.
Also is there any chance of getting the cover / artwork scanned with your releases?

I have this laserdisc. It does not have these extra shots. The German laserdisc does have them, though. Was either of your VHS tapes dubbed in English? I think these extra shots might be in the dubbed export version, but not the HK version.
I have captured the MIHK laserdisc. I could share it (although, Colek might be able to produce a better looking capture). The main problem is that the image is shifted upwards, making it inconvenient for widescreen TVs. I'm thinking about cropping the capture to anamorphic widescreen. Is there a reliable way to OCR the hardcoded subtitles in the letterbox area?

I was able to get hold of a copy of the Mei Ah LD of First Strike. My copy has a digital track with the original sync sound, and the Mandarin dub on the analog track. Both are in stereo. Could you post pictures of the front and back cover of your copy?

Yes the Palace Pictures VHS was the English Dub (how I first saw the film).
Does the German laserdisc have original cantonese audio with this scene included?
Thanks for the info.

No. The German laserdisc only has English and German dub. It seems to be sourced from an English dubbed print.

Video captured through S-Video output on my PAL DVL-909 unit via StarTech USB3HDCAP to loseless HuffYUV codec using OBS 64-bit.
Audio captured through RCA/SPFID output via Asus Xonar Essence STX II using REAPER at 64-bit 192kHz (analog) WAV or 16-bit 44.1kHz (digital) WAV, after syncing rendered at 16-bit 48kHz with Ultra HQ resampling quality.
Most likely subtitles for most releases (English).
All releases will be released in AVCHD (DVD9) format, no menu.

I'd love to hear the original audio for Unforgiven please. There's a new blu-ray coming but no doubt they'll remaster/alter the audio a la Goodfellas & The French Connection...

Seems as if the first German DVD release also used that Master, and has those shots.. (in Germna and English Audio)
...damn... now I have to find that DVD...

Regarding "The Killer":
Seems as if I got that mentioned german DVD with the english audio master as base.. it is cropped to the sides.. so it is not the original widescreen aspect ratio.
Quality seems to be .. uhm... let's say.. the DVD lacks of it.
Running time of the movie track: 1h 49m 05s, but it starts with the trailer. The First Movie Credits start at 3:14
English Title and Cast Text.
But it has the mentioned two guns jump and stomach slide by Chow Yun Fat.
