Maybe more a combination of things we generally don't deal with . .

Forbes -- Blade Runner: The Final Cut' 4K Blu-ray Review: I've Seen Things You People Wouldn't Believe
John Archer Wrote:The combination of HDR and wider colors also makes the film feel like it was made just yesterday, rather than 35 years ago. The extra brightness has been injected, moreover, without black levels suffering, or colors losing their naturalism. ... the film’s dramatic neon lighting and many artificial light sources have been given a huge boost in saturation and brightness.

I'm not a fan, the audio is ruined and it has encoding issues

I'm not anywhere near being 4K ready but please do tell about any issues. I've been convinced people aren't digging into these new catalog releases very well.
CEOT3K has tweaks, color shifts and generally is less accurate seemingly than the previous bd and additionally downgrades the audio to 16 bit.
It looks as if only Kwai will be without digital tomfoolery one hopes.

And to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the audio on BR sounds bad as I think with each successive remix it loses something.

Indeedy, some frozen grain that may be in the DI due to age.
Some macroblocking, and the remix is just terrible.

Just watched your Laserdisc Regrade with Jonno's 'UK cinema intro reconstruction' as a primer for '2049'

Great work sir!
I watched with the Criterion Laserdisc Narration track.

Thank you for your hard work. Great Experience.

Thanks Cschmidlapp. Very, very nice of you to say. My new version(s) should be better. I'm working on them non-stop.

Also thanks for the shout-out Jonno. Haven't been on MS for a bit and just saw your intro. Very cool.

So a buddy of mine has the UHD disc and a 4K player. I downscaled the 4K to 1080p and capped it to see if it was something I need to add to this project
