Does anyone have the Mission Impossible 2 DVD from Australia? It's unique in that it has a Dolby Surround english track. All other releases are 5.1.

I'm interested if this is a downmix, or a dedicated mix, could be candidate for a preserv maybe.

There is also similary, a 2.0 Dolby Surround french mix on the american DVD that is unique.

From what I can see every UK DVD release is the cut version:

And yeah it's pretty cheap, this one for example:

But if you aren't in the UK I don't mind buying it and ripping it for you, saves international postage etc.

I was browsing on amazon, and ran into this DVD of True Romance

https://www.amazon.com/True-Romance-Unra...304602979/

It's the original R1 disc, has both widescreen and full screen, but apparently, the mix is Dolby Surround on this one.

Would anyone happen to own a copy and could verify?

All the other releases are 5.1 but not sure if this is a remix or not.

So I was thinking this morning (this happens LOL)...

Why is it that no one tried a PanUp on the T2 Blu-ray to get the best of the best out of the 2003 master?

As they all come from the same master, so you could technically blend the releases:

- Studio Canal early release
- Lionsgate early release
- Skynet version with DNR (US version is sightly bigger)
- Japan Geneon
- 2015 best version without DNR

I'm guessing if you blend them, using the 2015 as the main, in 2160p, you could produce a nice contrasty 4K version.
